h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Help! I am trying to assist a young performer assemble program notes for her next recital, which includes the Dolly Suite, but find nothing anywhere on the web. Although I have heard this work I am unfamiliar with its circumstances. (I am not a musician, only a writer). I would be most grateful for notes from anyone as to what inspired Faure to compose it, its importance among his works, features worth noting, anything else that would explain it to this performer's audience.
