Looking at page http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A481510 it is suggested that he is one of the greatest French composers of the 19th Century. I have recently thought of him as a 20th Century composer. Clearly his most famous work - the Requiem - was written in the 19th Century, but there are other works which make it into the 20th. When were his piano quartets written?
