A Conversation for Fabry Disease

Two different drug companies have recently produced treatments for Fabry disease. Both involve replacing the missing alpha galactosidase A with an artificial form of the same enzyme. Hopefully the treatment will be available on prescription very soon

Indeed so. I was involved in the research for one of the companies. I'm not saying which one, but its the one with the best product (and the shortest name)

Well, by my reckoning, one has 8 letters and one has 9. Assuming you're not using generic names, in which case both have 14 letters. Am I close..?

I was thinking of the drug company name - it is three letters long, starting in T, ending in T with a K in the middle

I think the only one that's made it as far as the printed page so far is a short book called 'Fabry disease. Clinical manifestations, diagnosis and therapy', 'authored' by Beck and Ries, and I've also ghost-written an article about Fabry disease for Brady in 'Current Medical Literature'.

Sadly not Conference attendance for writers is dependent on drug companies deciding that the money they can make from the promotional material we write outweighs the cost of the writer's travel and accomodation. For Fabry disease, this doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe one day...
