I think your entry describes very well the parachute in our normal 1 G 1 atmosphere environment. Only the section on the operational parameters describes it in the wrong direction.
All currently used parachutes are designed to work optimal in our environment. If you change the pressure or the gravitational attraction, you will have to change your design.
For instance, if it will become possible in the far future to jump in an air-filled cave on the moon, a much smaller parachute will do.
