I've just realised how the rest of the clue works! You didn't even hint that it was an anagram, I tink it may take people a while to get this one! but if you search for cleanliness as I did it comes up third or something! It caught my eye and I read it! it just happened to be the right article!

Its a bit similar to another clue - by Shelob I think - where the answer was a How to make a Plastic-Bag Bra where you take the words and they vaguely sound like the answer - maybe I should go back and make that clear?!
I'll do that now.

At last is the word 
The seventies was my first thought on the previous clue and got no hits at all on a search for either '1970s' or 'seventies'. I then realised by searchng for something I knew was an entry that the search engine was down so I did an alphabetical search for it. No wonder I discarded it as a non-starter!
Makes a change from people moaning about my clues being too hard then

I searched for 1970s, 70s, seventies, 70, etc... When the engine was working! - only found it when searching for decade!
