Shhh, Don't Say A Word

So it was, in times of strife,

I started out, to find a wife,

With beauty, style, grace, and poise,

Who'd shut her yap and not make noise.

But woe is me, for what I found,

Did screech and make a hideous sound.

It nagged and let it's mouth run free,

Much like a shaven, trained, monkey.

Then I did spot her, 'cross the room.

Her beauty lit my awful gloom.

I went across and said hello,

My words with, eloquence, did flow.

Time moved on, my desire did peak,

For she had not yet tried to speak.

But then, at once my heart it broke,

Because she looked at me and spoke.
