Oh, how I miss it!

The cry of exiled Scots everywhere; "Oh, you just can't get it down here you know!" The best place to buy it IMHO is "Kirks the Butchers", High Street, Denny, Stirlingshire. Though I suppose everyone in Scotland thinks the best is just down from their old house smiley - smiley

The recipe above is the more "traditional" blend, half beef, half pork. Most butchers
and indeed a lot of the supermarket frozen brands pull back on the beef and make the
sausage with more pork. Another "secret" ingredient for that butcher-shop taste is
onion powder, just add a couple of teaspoons. Again it's a simple enough recipe to
experiment with to get the sausage just the way you like it.

As for recommendations, the late Gillespies butchers in Greenock, Scotland made
the best slice (slang for Lorne Sausage) ever !
