I'm going back to Stoke on Friday too (from London) ... Out for a few beers in 'castle... Where you heading to/from?
Not much a fan of the oatake (first generation Stokie so parents never bought them).

I found this entry very good, but totally unfair for non-cooking Americans.

Oh, that really is a shame, North Staffs Oatcakes are the business! Although when I became veggie (twenty three years ago) I had to give up having them fried in bacon fat with baked beans
