And I've tried with so many different types of oven over the years. Microwaved oatcakes seem to have a rubbery quality to me....even when it's subtle, it's too noticable for my taste. Grilling the filling gives the oatcake a subtle crisp around the edges which is just heaven.

Absolutely agree with you there,indeed my original version of this specifically said Do Not Microwave, but the editors disagreed.
I think its alright if you are in a blinding hurry though...
Grilling is best. (in my opinion)
