A Conversation for Malta

I was married in the Dome at Mosta and my wife's good family live very close by, in Parish Street. I had to walk to the wedding (Miss Sciberras arrived later by Bentley). Anyway as I turned to mount the steps resplendent in tuxedo, a bus from Valetta came by with a bevvy of Maltese with their heads out of the windows. Raucous cries of unknown but fearful meaning followed my now humbled progress.
Previous threads: I was also at Luqa, in 1978 Mintoff got his way and we left.
The beer is rubbish by English standards, but a cold Hopleaf or Cisk, if you prefer lager, is more refreshing in the heat. Farsons beer festival in the summer is getting well good now that its moved to Ta'Qali - and this is the only time you can find British beer on the island although there all kinds of common foreign imports like Carlsberg and Bud elsetimes.
There's no need for the Maltese to apologise for their language. After 25 years of trying, its gibberish and we all kow it.
They can apologise for the driving though see Ahh Malta for my opinion. Mrs. Lionarm2 now owns the Hillman of the late great Mr.Carmel Sciberras. She doesn't drive, so I have the dubious benefit of moving it and I don't have to be a hanzir like the rest.
