I was suprised not to see a reference to the famous 'Scottish' restaurant. I thought that Americans reveered the establishement with pride?

No, we hate it. You will find that McDonald's is almost universally recognized as a piece of crap, even as compared to other fast food restaurants. Why it doesn't shrivel up and die like it so clearly deserves is frankly beyond me.

You really eat McDonald's food? Even when you have a choice between that and something more appetizing, like, sticks?

Good, I would also like to point out that I was only there because I was riding with someone else who wanted to eat that stuff.

I don't mind McDonalds. I like a good sausage egg McMuffin when I can get it. And I am not ashamed of that. smiley - smiley It's not one of my favorite restaurants, or one of my favorite fast food joints, and I do not "revere" the establishment, but it's alright.

I never quite understood why some corporations inspire such heated emotions, like McDonalds or Wal-Mart. They just fill a niche in a market. Their continued existence is indicative of a larger, emerging trend or shift in society. The world wouldn't be a different place today if McDonalds didn't exist, because another fast food restaurant would take its place. You can dislike the trend of society, but it's silly to focus on one corporation as if it is the embodiment of all that is wrong with the world.

Y'ever see 'Supersize Me'? Very funny and interesting documentary, but it made me and the group I was with hungry.

Guess where we went to eat afterwards?
