A Conversation for Zaventem, Belgium

Zaventem is the place for all those techies from the surrounding companies to have their guide-sized lunchbreaks.

You can go up-market at a restaurant ou the outskirts of town (opposite side from the airport) called the Stockmansmolen. Expect to pay up to 5,000 BEF per head for lunch here! Alternatively, one of the most popular places is just a couple of doors away from Dits deli called the Hotel Z. Its absolutely great in the summer with a pleasant terrace/garden out the back. What's on offer is fairly simple. Large sandwiches (what Americans would call subs), chilli, spagetti, and a few other items. Expect generous portions for not too much money and wash it down with a nice Belgian beer. One item worth remembering is that the Z is open 24hrs!

Agreed - the Stockmansmolen is too pricy ... mind you, if the tech. company is paying for you ... why not?
Shucks - now I find out that the Z is open 24 hours. I spent so much time in De Uiver (closing times posted, but never observed) that I never found this out!
