Jodrell Bank, apart from being a research centre for radio astronomy and being part of Manchester University, has a fantastic visitor centre; "The Jodrell Bank Science Centre". There are hands-on science activities for kids (and adults), exhibition galleries, and a Planetarium. It's a great afternoon out and well worth a visit.

The current planetarium show is narrated by Fred Talbot (the weatherman who used to jump over the floating map of the UK during daytime TV).
