Dead simple .....
1. Decide who's batting first.
2. You score runs every time you pass a Pub with some part of human anatomy in it's name.
3. eg "The Kings Head" scores one run, the "Queens Arms" score two.
4. Pass a pub without scoring and that batsman is out.
5. When all 11 of your batsmen are out then your innings is over and it's somebody elses turn.

Another version is that you get the number of legs applicable to the sign - if no legs then you're out. You can play this with names of pubs or pictures on signs.
For example: The Pack Horse would score 4 (or 6 if you noticed there was a bloke leading the horse)
The Four in Hand would score a whopping 16 (four horses) or 20 (if you spotted the driver and another person sat beside him)
You'd be out if you came across the Lake Road Inn.
The Dog and Gun is controversial - there's a dog on the sign but you can't see it's legs - hence the need for pre-game decision: would you be out or would you score 4?
