A Conversation for Things to Keep Children Amused on Long Journeys
Variations on "I went to the store ..."
BuckStopshere Started conversation Oct 31, 2003
It has become traditional in our family to start each holiday journey with a game of "I'm going on holiday and in my suitcase I have packed ...", before going on with the alphabetic list as described. However, we have imaginary style points for humour or alliteration (e.g. "a pink portable plastic potty").
My only concern as the driver is the need to keep concentrating simultaneously on the road, so there are no "time limits" imposed which might create pressure or frustration. It's supposed to be a fun thing, after all!

the first time I learned this, it went, "I'm going on a picnic, and I'm bringing ..." I'm assuming there are alot of different ways to do it.
