I received the bbc science newsletter yesterday. It said mercury visible in the west 7.30pm England. Well I didnt see it again. I have been looking at the night time sky for about 45 years and I still havent seen it. Help!

Be patient: Rumours have it that Copernicus said on his deathbed that he had never seen Mercury. 
Have you used a small diagram in order to find Mercury?

No diagram just looked in the west close to where the sun had set.
