Blood donation as an STD testing method

I think it is very dangerous to suggest that succesfuly donating blood infers that you are free from STDs as there is mostly a window period when the disease cannot be detected by the donation clinic's tests. The disease could still be passed onto the receipient. You should only attempt to donate blood if you are pretty sure that your blood is safe for transfusion. I think this should be noted in the entry.
