You might want to re-write this (or not, I think it's quite amusing).
"Bugger" (verb) is English slang for anal sex.

Where I'm from (Sheffield, S. Yorkshire) I hear 'bugger up' or 'buggered up' used to say something will go/has gone wrong or will be/has been messed up. "I buggered up my report" would mean "I messed up my report", "Don't bugger this up", ect. It's more mild than saying 'F***ed up'.
At least the people I know, anyway
