It's my opinion.

I trust Ormy, but I don't think we should start precedent for getting new entries into the Guide in this way. If this review forum were as busy as PR then I would have a different opinion, ie, it could all be done here, but as it has so few reviewers I think new entries should go through PR.

But as the 'Albums' entry mostly consists of material that has already been in the Edited Guide, is it really a new Entry?

Anyway, I believe that I've fixed all the points that Gnomon mentioned. Under 'The Kick Inside' in the 'Albums' Entry, I've added a nice previously unused Kate quote about the song 'Wuthering Heights' and a link to a resource about Emily Bronte's of the same name.

A small note on the Albums entry: on the album Aerial, in the song 'Pi', Kate gets only the first 53 digits right.

I was aware that there was some controversy about how accurate Kate's version of pi was, hence my deliberately vague reference to '...singing said number to a large number of decimal places'.

OK, Eco Worrier. New Entries should go through PR. But in this case, most of the stuff in the "new" Entry is just content that has been moved from the old one. In effect, the old entry has been split into two, and each of these is undergoing an update. So in this case, I'm happy that we're not sneaking something in the back door. But I'll keep your concerns in mind for the future.

I must have been confused, when Ormy said the 'new' albums entry was all his work I assumed he'd written it for the update and so was entirely new content. Sorry!

I wasn't clear on that point either.

OK, we've established the course of action for splitting this. But before we do that, are there any more comments on or amendments to either part of this entry?

The headings need capitalising correctly. I know nothing about the artist, sorry.

To remove any lingering ambiguity: the 'Albums' Entry is only 'new' in the sense that it wasn't previously a separate Entry. All of the material in it was previously included in the Edited Entry on Kate, with the exception of the very brief introduction at the start of the 'Albums' Entry and the section on the album 'Aerial'. Hope that's made everything clear.

As for the capitalisation of headings: yes, I guess there was inconsistency there. I think I've fixed it now.

The original entry has now been updated and I've requested the necessary changes from the Eds to make the second one Edited.

One final tweak, Ormondroyd. Can you change the link in A21197171 to point to the original entry A3502568 instead of to your copy A19465211.
