Thank you, it was something very dear to my father's heart, he made a special cross every year to which he affixed a poppy, and wrote on the cross "For Those Shot At Dawn".
He's no longer with us
but the story needed to be told and I'm glad I've done it justice. I am very proud of this Entry

I hate to think of them being called cowards.
Yes, I know that those around them stood up and fought. But to be prefectly honest, if someone told me that next morning I was going to climb up over the trench wall, and trudge slowly towards a man who is pointing a machine gun at me... well. I don't know that I'd be brave enough to sit there and wait.
Running away sounds like common sense to me, not cowardice.
