LQ - Just plain old LQ

I do hope they make an English language version - may just sell them at least one extra DS console (there's another couple of games I would quite like on it/coming out on it, but it's quite limited at the moment for me - the only proper English-language version of the missing link in the series could well prove a deciding factor).

However, they may well decide there's not enough demand.

Given that FF3 is a Famicom port, it shouldn't be too text-heavy, so translation and localisation should be less expensive than for later games. And it does have the Final Fantasy name on it.

The Western RPG market is larger post-FF7, so that's another positive sign. I'm not sure what S-E's policies are here; they translated Unlimited Saga, which is hardly 'light' RPG fare, but despite the praise Dragon Quest VII has been getting, last I heard they were going to pass over translating it, but are planning to translate DQ8. As for FF3, we've heard practically nothing about the game full stop.

'[Yoichi] Wada confirmed that the game is in development under the lead direction of Hiromichi Tanaka, the director of Final Fantasy XI. He also stated that the game will be remade using polygons for both the characters and the field similar to Seiken Densetsu.'

And we have pictures, albeit of a screen at an announcement: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff3ds/screens/ff3dsss100505.html
