What sort of things are you doing with your garden?

I used to have a very large garden all now block paved for low maintenance. I am growing in pots and green house. Beetroot, lettuce, Strawbery, gooseberry, tomatoes, blueberry and chives along with lots of plants and hanging baskets - thank you for asking.

Sounds lovely, can I pop round for ?
I don't have the patience for pots, I always forget to water them, so everything is in the ground. I have a wildlife garden, which make it hard to grow edible plants, but I do have some rhubarb and tomatoes growing, plus some herbs scattered around.

I love rubarb and my other half would love to grow some but I do not think they would grow in pots

I've no idea about it in pots I'm afraid, but you're right it's delicious with custard. Usually I have it with icecream as my son doesn't like rhubarb and it's a waste to open a tin of custard just for one. Except somedays when I have rhubarb crumble and custard for breakfast, dinner and tea. But those days don't happen often.

What a shame your son does not like it. I used to love going to my gran's on a Sunday, everything home grown and proper homemade roast dinner - could smell it from down the street before arriving Mmmmmmmm
She made the most delightful Rhubarb and Ginger jam, you can't buy that in the shops.
Oh memories, sweet memories.

I *think* I can remember my grandfather growing rhubarb in an old white Belfast sink, so a bit enough pot should be fine - though he died when I was 3 so I can't be 100% sure!
I don't have all that much experience with it, to be honest.

Thank goodness - in Irish, the rhubarb is called "monk's purgative", because monks used to use it if they were suffering from constipation!
