A Conversation for Green Death
Baltimore Zoo... the highest evolution of the species

I'd like to share a beverage that was, as far as I know, unique to a bar called 92's. Don't try looking for 92's, for (as is so often the case with marginally-trendy but tragically-misplaced-in-terms-of-location venues) it has since gone out of business, but it was originally situated on Rickmansworth High Street in Herfordshire. I worked there as a callow youth from the years 92-93, give or take. Incidentally, for those of you that live in London and give a tinker's cuss, it as owned by the same people that owned the clubs Velvet Underground and Mars Bar (the latter is now called something quite different but resides, as ever, on Sutton Row just off Soho Square).
Deep breath. Sorry, I have a tendency to go off on tangents.
Anyway, one makes a Baltimore Zoo thusly.
1 measure of Bacardi
1 measure of gin
1 measure of vodka
1 measure of Triple Sec
Dash of lemonade
Top up with lager (yes, you did read that correctly)
Obviously you'll need a largeish glass for this lot - I suggest one of those tall inverted-bell-shaped nunmbers, although a pint glass will do at a pinch (don't drown it with lager if you go for the altter option, however: fill up to 2/3 height and that should do it).
Sounds revolting, doesn't it? And yet, remarkably, it's reasonably palatable and I can guarantee that 4 of those will put you in a very good (or combative, depending on your disposition) mood.
Enjoy.
