Pushed, kicking and screaming...
...and rather like that moment when the Queen came on television to talk about the death of Diana. You could almost see her thinking "Why am on TV? It's not Christmas." Anyway, after a few prompts, a little about myself.
Music: an incorrigible fan of 90s house music and a retired clubber. In my day I thrashed the podiums with the best of them (favourite clubs The Cross, Turnmills and Back to Basics in Leeds {when it was at the Pleasure Rooms}). Otherwise, have found my tastes to be edging their way back to the mainstream lately. Enjoy almost anything, with the possible exceptions of thrash metal and country and western. Standouts? Massive Attack, Leftfield, Tricky, Royksopp, and most of the Hed Kandi collections.
Movies: I'm a nerd. I don't deny it. Love everything from the Godfather to Evil Dead to Blazing Saddles to Jerry Maguire to Batman (only the Tim Burton ones) to Delicatessen to Pulp Fiction to... oh, we could be here for a long while so suffice is to say that I will happily watch movies all day, every day (and would too if someone would only pay me to do it).
Books: see Movies. Love 'em. Favourite authors are too many to count but a brief selection would include Vikram Seth, Philip Roth, Douglas Adams, Ian McEwan, Iain Banks, Doris Lessing, Hanif Kureishi, Tolkien, Emily Bronte, Nick Hornby, etc etc ad nauseam.
That's all I have the time for at the moment. I've deleted a few chunks of this because a) having re-read it, I hate it all, and b) I no longer have a girlfriend. I believe this is what they call in the trade "disarming frankness".
