Not necessarily. There are foul lines on either side of the diamond stretching away from the 'home' plate. If the ball crosses that line it is deemed foul. If it goes over the back wall of the stadium, it is still out of play, but counts as a 'home run' and the batter is allowed to make a complete circuit of the bases and score a run for the team.
