smiley - biggrin Nice entry. Tempted to watch the film. I've always enjoyed Green Eggs and Ham myself smiley - winkeye

Surprised not to see the links made between the EG entry you wrote on Dakota and Elle Fanning A3094094 and this entry.

Pimms smiley - ok

How about the reverse link too, from Dakota and Elle Fanning A3094094 to this entry A3176110?

There is some similarity between the relationships in this film and Forrest Gump's relationship with his child. I think it reminds us that good parenting is not always about how clever you are but more about how much you love your child.

Lots of children with very bright parents would also love someone to come to the park with them.

Lovely entry, I'm going to look out for the film.

But only if someone will tell me the ending first. Pretty please? smiley - grovel

Very difficult to spoil a three year old film I would have thought!

I've stuck in on my 'postal dvd rental' list. smiley - ok But I'd still like to know what happened. Anyone who fancies letting me know, please post on my PS so not to spoil it for any other slow coaches! smiley - smiley

Difficult to spoil a three-year-old film? Did you ever hear the boos Paul Merton got for blurting the ending to the Mousetrap in his act?

Do you lot mind! It's difficult typing with my hands over my eyes AND my fingers in my ears!

OK, I get the point about spoiling, but this is different to the Moustrap which is, let's face it, A Great British Institution.

still hopeful that someone will take pity on me...

It's at the top of my rental list now, you might have to wait if no-one else comes up.

I agree about the Mousetrap though, that's a bit different to giving away the end of the movie. Many of the other movie entries on h2g2 give away the ending, or important plot points.

Hmm well, it was all a bit subtle for me at the end, but yes, he did get her back, although it looked like with the support of the foster mother.

I prefer my endings to be a bit more black and white.

Unfortunately I was nagged all the way through by the actress playing Lucy, because she's clearly a freaky adult in a kid's body and she kept reminding me of Max Headroom (the actor who played him was in Taken, like her). She seemed to be acting like she thought a child would act, rather than being a child.

Thanks for the comments guys smiley - biggrin and thanks Pimms and Jimster for the link, I couldn't include it in the entry because the two went through PR at the same time.

I think it was a sort of joint custody at the end. There are some threads on IMDb where people argue it a bit. I didn't like it the first time I saw it and I didn't like Lucy, but I changed my mind when I accidentally saw it again. I like the fact the ending was a bit unclear, because if it had shown some final judge ruling it would have been silly, and cheesy if he'd got her back, and sad if he hadn't. smiley - erm
