One interesting thing is that the holders are able to set the rules for the cup races themselves. Although there is usually lots of legal wrangling over the exact interpretations.

How can anyone write an article about the America's Cup without mentioning Cowes, Isle of Wight? The cup has to happen somewhere, you know. It's not a competition that has taken place in the middle of no-where for the last hundred years...
