A Conversation for A New Forest Walk - Ashurst to Brockenhurst

Just thought I'd let you know

This is the first entry I've bookmarked because I intend to do this walk this year. If I can work out how to get your video onto J's ipod of course - we don't want to get lost!

I've already been looking up nice campsites for this area, and depending on circumstances are hoping to go at Easter.

Lovely entry!

I can recommend a good campsite at a place called the Red Shute - it's right beside a good pub that's fine with kids and dogs, and the food there is excellent if you ever feel too lazy to cook!

If you want me to, I could try to find a way to email the vid to you. It would be much easier than trying to work out how to get it from YouTube to iPod.

That was really interesting. I have a couple of friends who reconnoitre and conduct walks, so I must see if they would like to do that one with me - I need a guide, having only peripheral vision. I live a little further west than Brockenhurst.

Thanks! I'll keep that one in mind - just found the tent I want secondhand on ebay, just waiting for a photo of their tent rather than the publicity photo before I decide to buy, so that's one thing nearly out of the way.

I'll ask J later to see what format his ipod uses. smiley - smiley

Is this the one?

I haven't got a map of that area, so I can't check how close it is to your walk.

Yes, that's the one. You would have to drive to the start of the walk, but it's a terrific campsite.

That's ok, that was the point of getting a tent and the van, so I could take the van and not have to worry about keep setting/packing up every time I wanted to move.

Bid on the tent now, so just have to wait to see when I can make the trip. If Fred needs an operation it's not going to be in April but will be later on in the year.

Let me know when, in that case. I'm due a visit this year, but my old friend that I go with is becoming a father soon, so I'll be going later in the year as well smiley - smiley

As you know, it's usually quite difficult for me to get away, but if by chance our months collide it would be great to meet up again smiley - smiley

I'd like that, and I know J would. I've had the photos from last year developed, but now I don't have a scanner anymore I can't get them online.

I realise our holidays and weekends are your busiest times, but I'll keep it in mind when planning my trips.
