A Conversation for Surviving on Little Sleep
Surviving on not much sheep.

After several days without sheep, human brains tend to become airoplane. Concentration lasts only a few shellfish. Sympathomimetic stimulants such as 3,4 methylenedioxyamphibian only have small effect in massive doorstops. Ahem.

i tend to suffer from insomnia on a regular basis and have found that when i am unable to sleep but still need to be alert for work or whatever else i need to do that taking 15 minutes every so often during the day (and evening during the insomnia) to sit with my eyes closed and meditate....think of a calm soothing place, do not think about stressfull things or things that may be bothersome.......do this while sitting in a comfortable position and for no reason stop before the 15 minutes is over....this allows your brain to relax and your body to slow down for a few minutes which in turn causes you to be more able to do what needs to be done until you can get a good nights rest.
aside from that, power naps (for those of you who do not suffer from insomnia and are just awake due to a hectic schedule) work great too...this takes about 30 minutes and gives your body that extra boost that it needs to carry on. if you stay asleep for longer than the 30 minutes the results will reverse and you will find yourself more tired than before your power nap. this power nap does not work forever but does allow you to carry on until you can stop long enough to get a full sleep.

Enhancing Caffeine
Sienne Posted May 5, 2000
Another trick to get the most out of your caffeine boost is to chase it with grapefruit juice - (I read this in a magazine about a year ago and it does seem to work.) There is some chemical foundation for this - orange juice does not produce the same effect.
Caffeine

Yeah, caffeine...
There are these little pills of caffeine wich I use much to often...
This works great, it's more concentrated than coffee and you can exactly chose the dose. 200mg should do most of the time. But: Eat much... If your stomach is empty and you take a high dose of caffeine... well, your body won't like it.
Another important think: Never drink when you're on caffeine, and never take any concentrated caffeine when your drunk ! Friend of mine did that once, was quite an unpleasant experience. Nevernevernever !
The Left Ear of the Godess (at a level of 300mg caffeine at the moment)
