this use for altiods was discovered by a friend of mine, Elle. In this theory you can use your empty case of altoids as a wallet. Who would think to steal a tin of altios?

I keep my camera in a mint tin. (Actually I use a Penguins* tin - which is exactly the same size as an Altoids tin.)

The camera is a Pentax Optio-S, if you were wondering...

*Penguins are sugar-free, caffeinated peppermints. They too come in a few alternative flavours... Cinnamon, Chocolate and Decaffeinated!

Have a look on the net for caffeinated peppermints.
In fact I think the URL might be http://www.peppermints.com !
Not too easy to find in the UK though.

Actually, they also do a tiny tin containing just 14g of the things.

In recent months the Altoids Tin has become the basis of a few ingenious hacks:

An altoids tin based computer mouse
A simple speaker made from headphones, playing cards and 2 altoids tins
A microphone

And I gather that Altoids (the company) are now sponsoring a competition for inventive uses of their tins!
