Red wine (especially the real good stuff) contains a small amount of penicyllin which means that those of us that are allergic to said microbe cannot drink it.
If you find red wine gives you a disproportionate hang over even if you only have one or two glasses, ask your doctor for an allergy test....and if positive, buy yourself a good whisky to comiserate and an allergy bracelet to be safe from being given it in the event of an accident.

I don't know anyone who's been given red wine after an accident! Maybe people are being treated by the wrong doctors and paramedics.

The subject in "given it by accident", is penicyllin as is the subject of this thread....or am I the one that's confused here?

Anyhow to try again. Red wine contains penicyllin; some people are allergic to penicyllin (me for one ). Those people should avoid red wine and _also_ get a bracelet which says they are allergic to penicyllin so that should they be admitted to hospital and not be able to tell the medical staff about their allergy, said staff can look on the bracelet....of course, at this point I have just realised that I have left my bracelet at home and therefore must get off my high horse .... blast

I have just found this thread and every one will probably unsubscribed to it by now but..

wine over white and many a time drank a whole bottle of red wine
This brings up a couple of points

1)if they did put in in red wine i should be dead

2)penicyllin should not be taken with any kind of alcohol so this means evan a slight ammount shouldnt be added to red wine

i have done a corse on wine/wine tasteing/wine service and i have never heard of it been added to wine

It isn't added. Dunx is slightly confused(and unable to spell). Whatever turns good red wine red is related to penicillin. One glass makes me seriously ill for at least 36 hours. For obvious reasons I can't eat stale bread or blue cheese either

Thats how it was disscoverd stale bread....

I can drink read wine for england
