Temperature for serving red wine

Although red wine is traditionally served at 'room temperature', there are some who argue that, years ago when these 'rules' were made, room temperature was a lot colder than it is now. So if you like your red wine a bit cooler than normal, go right ahead!

65F is a little too warm for my tastes, natural cellar tempreture, about 50 - 55 tastes better, just my opinion

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.
How did you do that smiley, BTW?

It does indeed depend on the room! If you are an upstairs apartment dwelller with a less than reliable air-conditioner (ME) room temperature is 80F at best!
I wonder if it's ok to keep it in the fridge and then take it out to gradually warm up to 55 or so before drinking?
