Temperature for serving red wine

Although red wine is traditionally served at 'room temperature', there are some who argue that, years ago when these 'rules' were made, room temperature was a lot colder than it is now. So if you like your red wine a bit cooler than normal, go right ahead!smiley - bigeyes

65F is a little too warm for my tastes, natural cellar tempreture, about 50 - 55 tastes better, just my opinion smiley - tongueout

It does indeed depend on the room! If you are an upstairs apartment dwelller with a less than reliable air-conditioner (ME) room temperature is 80F at best!

I wonder if it's ok to keep it in the fridge and then take it out to gradually warm up to 55 or so before drinking?
