A Conversation for Great Cold Drinks
Hibiscus drink

When I lived in Belize one of the best cold drinks I came across was made from the flowers of the hibiscus. It was sold in cartons by a drinks company there, but is easy to make. You'll find hibiscus tea bags in many ethnic or health food stores. Make the tea - it's a deep red, ribena coloured, and naturally sweet with a hint of iron in its taste. It doesn't really need sweetened at all. Make as much as you want, one bag per cupful of water, let cool or refrigerate. Then just serve it cold. Delightful!
Also known as jamaica tea - jamaica being pronounced ha-my-ka, more or less, which is Spanish for hibiscus.
