One small point I'm sure I've seen Roman re-enactments, which would predate the vikings other than that I can see no problems with it.

You're right DD, I've seen some Roman Legions. I'd better get out there and see what I can find. I think I'm going to risk submitting this one at some point

I'm still waiting to have a submitted one approved.
However as I now have over 60 entries altogether I'm not too concerned, me not being a sub and all.

Of course not all can be submitted some are h2g2 related things. However I've started writting articles again recently what with these quiet lunchtimes and all.

A little research amongst my re-enactor friends suggests the earliest period is Iron Age Celts.

There are a few of us who'll do bronze age and I'm sure Ive even seen people in mesolithic/neolithic style clothing knapping flint
