Ah, Newcastle! I was at college there, and loved it.
I didn’t get a grant for my final year and had to work in the Eldon behind the bar. Is it still there? A big glass-fronted place with a very long bar.
I keep promising myself to pop back up to Geordieland, and sink a few Newky Browns or Exhibitions. Is it as good as it used to be?

I've not been clubbing in Newcastle yet... (probably the only fresher at Durham who hasn't, but there you go) .... but I do know that student night is Monday.
And judging by the behaviour of college on a Tuesday morning, its still good

More on Newcastle, from a Durham friend who's best mate studies there:
"Newcastle is good for nightlife and medicine as far as I know. Nice city, great shopping, campus and students union are particularly nice. I don't like the accomodation very much, some of it's in little flatlets shared between 6 which is quite good (own kitchen and living area), or you can get catered for but the food is yuk."

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
