As somebody with strong ties to the North of England, it pains me to say this. But honesty dictates that the best chippie in England is in fact in Folkestone Kent, almost as far South as you can go without getting your feet wet or speaking French. Papas, on the Sandgate Road in Folkestone. Exquisite.
