Do you know what a RISSOLE is?

Post 1

Huw B

I know what a rissole is, but I have been surprised to find that many parts of the UK have no idea.

If you read this message then please give a Yes/No answer and deposit your place of origin. In a few months we may have a detailed UK rissole analysis.

(I have noticed that Shropshire seems devoid of them)

Yes, I loved them ! I think someone like Birds Eye used to produce them in the 70's, but they stopped. I haven't seen them since.

I've seen some recipes for them on the net, but they used different ingredients.

I was in Bedfordshire when I used to eat them. Since then I've lived in London, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire & Hampshire and not seen them.

hi . my boyfriend is also welsh and he keeps on going on about rissoles. It doesn't seem as appetising as haggis or blackpudding deep fried in batter, which i cannot get in england smiley - wah

My wife tells me what is a rissole; a patty of meat in gravy. IF that is the case, then I have eaten MANY!
