Let's get more people out there on two wheels, that is the way to travel!!
I would like to comment on your garment selection, I find it cannot be stressed enogh that you should also have a pair of pants that will take the punishment in case of a slide. Ordinary blue jeans are seldom enough, and you can get jeans with padding on hips and knees and where it really matters, so don't be lazy on the protection.
The countersteering works! I have to practice it from time to time as it is a technique I will spare for the day that I really need to go tighter through a corner in a jiffy. Normally you don't need to countersteer, but of course, I ride a touring bike and not a sportsbike, but still, I think it will be better to save the countersteering for when you really need it.
I am off from work in a tick or two, then home to fit the new alarm on the bike and tomorrow I have a meeting 200km north of here (Luxembourg) and no way will I join the others in the car if I can avoid it
Remember, rubberside down, shiny side up and enjoy riding.
