The Dancing baby is often attributed to the dire television series 'Ally McBeal'. It was around years before the series started (at least 1996 - almost prehistory internet-wise), as an annoyingly large email attachment which people suffering from a humour defect thought so amusing that it was worth jamming up the inbox of everyone else's email accounts.
Fortunately it went missing, presumed dead, but unfortunately the 'creative' powers behind Ally 'ET' McBeal reserected the poor creature.
