Errm, David E Kelley did not create LA Law, that was the talented Steven Bochco (also responsible for Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue).
Mr Kelley is responsible for "The Practice", which is vaguely good, and before that a rather loathsome show called "Picket Fences" (or something equally twee). I believe he has a contract with one of the American networks (or production houses) to create another five series for our edification over the next two years. God save us all.
You've probably guessed I'm not a fan by now 
The only comment I will make on Ally McBeal is that Calista Flockheart seriously needs to eat some pies. Right Now.
