ROTFLMAO!!!!!! How true, how true!!!! The most accurate parts are the beer consumption in relation to the amount of teardown done, and the bloodshed! Old axiom I learned re-building totals(in reference to the hammer)...."If it don't fit, get a bigger hammer!"

Have you re-submitted the Article? I noticed it was absent from your list of Articles at the bottom. I hope so!...and if so Good Luck!smiley - smiley

Nah, It was rejected as is on the basis of not being factual enough. So I thought I'd tack it on the forum for yours in the hope that someone would read it.

One of my favorite terms is, 'If there isn't a power tool to do the job, the job can't be done'.
And,
'Yeah, I could probably fix your car. Am I going to? No.'

Isn't factual enough!?smiley - bigeyes....You've GOT to be kidding! If that's not the way it is......I'll eat my shorts!LOL

I didn't read one thing in it that was the absolute truth! I suppose "The Powers That Be" have never really worked on a car, otherwise they would KNOW it was a VERY factual article.

By the way, where is it on your page? I looked there and didn't see it. Did you put it in the "Delete" file? If so...get it out of there and back on your page!

I think the problem might have been that it was understandable to someon that has worked on cars before, but not quite so to someone that hasn't. It's probably over the head of anyone that hasn't sworn really profanely at an engine before.

How do I get someone to clarify my posts? It's 6.30 AM. I NEED someone!

Oh, There's a link to it in the top part of my page, and it's still in 'all the articles' too.

Yeah...I saw that. Keep it up in your page!!!!!

Your right....Anyone who has not had the "pleasure" of tinkering with their own autos would not see the truth in it! Trouble is, it sounds like me on any given Saturday!LOL

On any given day off, I'm usually just THINKING about fixing something on the car.

While I sleep in.

Then when I drive I just turn the radio up so I can't hear any noises I don't want to.

I think that's why most "hot rodders" have loud exhausts.....they don't really want to know what they just did to their engine in that last race!LOL

LOL. Yeah, but you can't get a radio loud enough to cover a broken conrod.

About 6 months ago I did a gearbox. Drove it down the shop, accompanied by a LOUD WHACK! every rotation of the drive shaft. You can't cover that, either. Sounded like someone continuously firing off .22 rounds. I just wound the window down, stuck my elbow out and pretended I couldn't hear a thing.

Tow truck, nah. My friends and I just use a chain. I came from the sticks so it was 40-odd kms to get home. It's not too bad if you're in front, all you have to do is remember not to use the brakes if you can help it. Being behind's a bastard. In a dead car, no radio and at the mercy of the guy in front for the best part of an hour. The worst bit is the steep (STEEP) hill coming into town.
Go the two-foot braking!!! smiley - smiley

ROTFL! Been there, done that, too!
Found a great idea. Put the chain through about 10 ft.(what's that, 21/2 meters?) of steel pipe, and cinch it up tight. If the lead guy f**ks up, it won't destroy your grill or his tail lights!smiley - smiley

I've actually towed a driverless car like that. Had to make sure everything was right and the front wheels were locked in a straight ahead position.
