The Manic Street Preachers recorded a version of the Theme from M*A*S*H (Suicide is Painless) for a charity album in 1992. A very good version it was too, the single was the first top ten hit for the band.

I'll have to hear it sometime. I can never get enough of that song!

Be aware that it's very difficult to get hold of, as it was not on any of the Manics albums. I'm sure that with using some internet tools that it can be found though.

Well, I don't plan to quest for it like it's an epileptic whore (that reference only makes sense if you've read the novel) but I would like to hear it... if it turns up, I'll jump at it

ROTFL I had forgot the whore! And yes the book is one to read if you have not. I watch MASH at least once a day. FX network plays it four times and some local stations play it as well. The tv show was a staple in my household for years and remains my favorite tv show ever.

Well I was thinking of letting the web do the grunt work of finding a copy as an mp3 (what promoting music piracy, this must stop )

Yes, none of that pirate stuff around here! Marv, I too watch M*A*S*H (when at home, where I have cable) a minimum of twice a day on the FX network. Last time I checked, they did two in a row in the morning, two in a row in the afternoon, and two in a row in the evening, which adds to six times a day, but I think that maybe the afternoon and evening episodes were identical.
