My Vitriol
My Vitriol are a relatively new band, who posses talent which has not been seen since the likes of the manics street preachers and nirvana.
the band consist of:
Som Wardner, vocals and guitar
Carolyn Bannister, bass and backing vocals
Seth Taylor, guitar
Ravi Kesavaram, drums
The name 'My Vitriol' comes from a book by Graham Green, entitled Brighton Rock.
quoting from a book review, and the official mv site:
Set in 40's Brighton among the criminal rabble, the book depicts the tragic career of a 17-year-old boy named Pinkie whose primary ambition is to head a underground gang. His calamitous childhood and repressed sexuality combine to create a force of evil that is both fascinating and repellent.'
All the time, Pinky carries with him a bottle of vitriol, ready to throw in the face of anyone threatening him.
[read the book, it really is very good]
Biography:
Som Wijay-Wardner met Ravi Kesavaram in college. there a mutual frined offered to record them a demo, with Ravi on drums, and Som filling in for all the other parts needed. after two day s of solid recording, they came up with a 5 track demo tape, entiteld "Delusions of Grandeur" one of these CD's found itself in the hands of radio one DJ steve Lamacq, and from there air play increased and the phenomenom of My Vitriol properly started.
