I'm a resident of Beecroft. There are two big areas, the Cumberland State Forest (West Pennant Hills) and the land put aside for the M2 (this runs along the rear of our property). We have Cockatoos and Rainbow Lorries, however the mornings calls are Currawongs.
Other species spotted are:
-Crimson Rosella
-King Parrot
-Kookaburra
-Crested Pigeon
-Whipbird (only by the call)
-and a Powerful Owl that is nesting nearby

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
