For me, the funniest line in the movie was during Gottfried's telling of the joke to a large audience of entertainment folks (as I recall). At one point, during gales of laughter, he said in his "fingernails on the blackboard" voice, "We may have to clean this up for television!" Bigger gales of laughter ...

I think Gottfried, for me, did the best job of making the joke, which is fairly contentious, sound genuinely funny. Seemingly it is one of those that works much better told to an audience than just to a camera.
