This entry uses non-approved guideml (pullquote) and has non-matching open and close tags (thus generating XML errors)

Fixed (ish).
I've put in ... instead of ... . (I blame the Eds: no one else could have done it, not recently anyway.)
So, no XML errors now.
Also removed empty tags and .
And inserted a missing full stop.
I also added a horribly complicated ALT tag to the image:
Any suggested improvements on a postcard, please.
Question: Is my use of tags within tags legal?

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 19, 2006
I've changed <LINK h2g2= to <LINK H2G2= as all tags should be in uppercase.
I'd say that this entry was written long before the current set of standards for GuideML, probably back in the days when entries could be written in HTML rather than GuideML. So I wouldn't necessarily blame the Eds.

Yes, all tags should be in uppercase, but h2g2 is an attribute.
...
Okay, all attributes should be in uppercase too.
Why are the attributes for the PICTURE tag so frequently in lower case? Most EG Entries with pictures have lowercase attributes (Embed, alt, etc.). Just something I've noticed.
And yes, I suspected that it might not be the Eds' fault, if it's old enough. I have seen a couple of unedited entries with inaccurate XML syntax.
