A Conversation for Toilet Paper Crash Mats
On the Shelf
Werner, I am the great Liar Started conversation Jun 5, 2007
When i was serving in the army in Germany, the toilets in the barracks were of an odd shape.
Instead of a normal bowl shape with the water centre bottom, they had what can only be described as a shelf about half way down the bowl, projected from the back and at the front was the hole where the water was?????
When flushed the water came down the back of the bowl at high speed and pushed every thing forward and down into oblivion.
no need for a crash mat on these babys!!!!
BUT.....as there was no water to mask the aroma, reading was not a plesant option on these
cheers

I mention this design of toilet bowl briefly in 'Crafty Design' and had personal experience of them on a couple of occasions in my youth on school trips. I had a tough time figuring out what exactly I was meant to do - even how I was meant to sit. Shy and retiring as I am, I couldn't bring myself to ask for an explanation, but muddled through somehow by myself. Very odd things to use...
