Public Transport 'Strippenkaart' system

Brother John

As the text described if you use the 'strippenkaart' you have to make sure you get the right amount because violation tickets/fines are quite high (that is because so many dutch people never bother to use the 'strippenkaart' at all, which in turn is because we don't understand it either.

I agree on that. Especially in the trams. When you're travelling by bus, the driver knows how many 'strippen' you need. In a tram however, there is usually no one there to check up on it. There are only a few that have somebody in the back of the tram who's only function is to check the people and make sure that they've paid for the ride.
