A note about the taxis: if you are travelling to/from a train station (eg arriving from or departing from a holiday), the best way is to get a special 'treintaxi' (train taxi) which is much cheaper than an ordinary taxi. Tickets for the treintaxi can be bought at railway stations.

I realy liked the fact that the trains I went on had a smoking section
The only taxi I travelled in was expensive, but felt like a limo!

Actually the best way to get a taxi is to make a phonecall to order one. They will pick you up from where ever you are and the meter only starts to run from the moment you get in. So this is one of those cases where mobile phones are actually convienient...
