The remark about the shirts being sold with the sleeves rolled up should refer to Rotterdam, the worlds bigest harbour, where, before automation, lots of goods had to be 'man-handled'.

Yes, I know, but I guess it can also be said about Holland in general, as I've heard it elsewhere as well.
